How Long Do Ram 1500 Trucks Last?
The Ram 1500 is known for delivering robust performance specs and features, but Coweta County drivers choose it because they also know that these full-size trucks are built to last. While Ram offers a best-in-class diesel powertrain warranty of up to 100,000 miles and a gas powertrain warranty of up to 60,000 miles, many drivers have reported driving Ram pickups for over 20 years, with mileage of over 300,000 miles. While those numbers can’t be guaranteed, of course, there are plenty of awards, consumer confidence ratings, and tests to back them up.
Consumer Confidence
The Ram 1500 has earned a number of consumer confidence awards in recent years, a reflection of the confidence that most Ram drivers feel behind the wheel of this full-size truck every day:
- 2017 Consumers Digest Best Buy Award
- 5 straight Consumer Guide® Best Buy Awards
The Ram 1500 also has better loyalty than any other half-ton pickup, including the Ford F-150, as well as excellent ratings from Consumer Reports.
Proven to Last
There’s more than just anecdotal evidence to suggest the durability of the Ram 1500, though. In fact, the Ram 1500 has been proven to last thanks to things like:
- High-quality engines with awards from WardsAuto
- 50,000 PSI frame strength
- Rugged Ram chassis
- Best-in-class 15,000 miles between diesel oil changes
- Rigid and comprehensive truck safety, security, and quality tests
And the 2019 Ram 1500 is on its way.
Backed Up by the Manufacturer
Best of all, you don’t need to have faith in your Ram – though you should – you can rest easy because Ram also backs their truck up with Ram 1500 mileage and year warranties:
- Unsurpassed 5-year/100,000-mile diesel powertrain limited warranty
- 5-year/60,000-mile gas powertrain limited warranty
- 5-year/100,000-mile roadside assistance

How many years will this product last?
The Ram 1500 is actually one of the most durable and long-lasting trucks on the market. The Ram 1500 has been labeled as one of “America’s long-lasting pickups.” Newer models may be more suitable for roads that are not well paved or maintained. The older vehicles can also withstand difficult terrains and take its owner on off-road adventures. The Ram 1500 definitely raises the bar on ruggedness. Source: Hotcars.com
I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4×4 5.7 with over 275k miles. Only issues i have has so far out side of batter and alternator. I had to replace broken exhaust manifold bolts twice. I’m still rolling and doing burnouts!
I have a 2001 1500 Dodge Ram with 130,000 on it. Engine is still strong, maintenance is the key. Engine is 5.9 and has pulled everything I’ve had on the trailer. Only draw back is it drinks the fuel. Very durable and good in the hills.

Hi Bobby, we can’t give you “the most” for your truck without our appraiser seeing it. I can tell you that used vehicles prices are much higher than they were at the beginning of the year. Bring it by the dealership and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at value of your truck.
